COST & INSURANCE INFORMATION

Clear information before you begin.

Clear information before you begin.

Starting therapy can already feel like a big step. Understanding cost, insurance, and payment options should not make it harder.

I offer private pay sessions and accept insurance through Headway. If you are unsure which option is right for you, we can talk through the practical differences during a consultation so you can make an informed choice.

PRIVATE PAY THERAPY

PRIVATE PAY THERAPY

A straightforward session fee.

A straightforward session fee.

The private pay rate is $175 per session.

Private pay may be a good fit if you prefer not to use insurance, do not have coverage for therapy, have out-of-network benefits, or want more privacy and flexibility in your care.

When therapy is paid for privately, insurance is not billed. This means a diagnosis is not required for insurance reimbursement, session limits are not determined by an insurance plan, and less information is shared outside of the therapy relationship.

Private pay does not mean therapy is better or more serious than insurance-based care. It is simply a different way to pay for services, and for some people it offers more flexibility.

USING INSURANCE

USING INSURANCE

Insurance can make therapy more accessible.

Insurance can make therapy more accessible.

I accept insurance through Headway, a secure platform that helps with insurance verification, billing, and scheduling.

Through Headway, you can check whether I am in-network with your insurance plan, review your estimated cost, and understand what you may owe before beginning therapy. Depending on your plan, your cost may include a copay, coinsurance, deductible amount, or no cost at the time of session.

When using insurance, therapy must meet insurance requirements. This usually includes a mental health diagnosis, documentation of medical necessity, and basic information submitted for billing. Insurance plans may also have rules about coverage, session frequency, or the number of sessions they authorize.

This is a normal part of using insurance for therapy, and many people choose this option because it makes care more affordable. My goal is to help you understand what using insurance means so there are fewer surprises.

OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS & NEXT STEPS

OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS & NEXT STEPS

You have options. We can sort through them together.

You have options. We can sort through them together.

If I am not in-network with your insurance or you choose private pay, I can provide a superbill upon request.

A superbill is a detailed receipt for therapy services. It includes information your insurance company may need if you choose to submit a claim for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and the amount depends on your insurance plan.

Some people choose insurance because it lowers the out-of-pocket cost of therapy. Others choose private pay because they want more privacy, flexibility, or control over the therapy process. There is no one right choice. The best option depends on your coverage, financial situation, and comfort level.
